PSYCH 3220 - Hormones and Behavior (crosslisted) BIONB 3220 (PBS-AS, BIO-AS) Fall. 3 credits. Letter grades only.
Prerequisite (any one of the following): PSYCH 2230 , BIONB 2210 or BIONB 2220 , or two biology courses plus psychology course. Enrollment limited to: juniors and seniors. Co-meets with PSYCH 7220 . Two and a half lectures with weekly quizzes. Students will also select a specialty topic based on original papers in the field, give an oral presentation.

Covers comparative and evolutionary approaches to the study of the relationship between peripheral hormones and neuroendocrine mechanisms in vertebrates, including humans, with sexual behavior, affiliative bonds and social grouping, parental behavior, aggression, mating systems, stress, learning and memory, and biological rhythms.
