VTMED 5610 - Radiology Service/Pathology Service Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer. 2 credits. S/U grades only.
Enrollment limited to: third- and fourth-year veterinary students. Required component of Clinical Rotations (Foundation Course VI).

WEEK 1 Clinical experience in the imaging section of the Cornell University Hospital for Animals. Students will gain hands-on experience acquiring radiographic and ultrasonographic images of patients under treatment in the Cornell University Hospital for Animals, and in laboratory exercises. Students also will participate in virtual cases rounds and use on-line teaching materials relative to radiographic and ultrasonographic technology.
WEEK 2 Students will work with the faculty and residents of the Section of Anatomic Pathology to perform necropsies and prepare written reports. Students will also spend time with faculty and/or residents in Parasitology, the Veterinary Support Service, and Section of Clinical Pathology. Instruction will focus on diagnostic testing, to include collection and submission of samples and interpretation of results.
