AEM 5111 - Introduction to Econometrics


     
Fall. 4 credits. Letter grades only (no audit).

Forbidden Overlap: due to an overlap in content, students will receive credit for only one course in the following group: AEM 4110 , AEM 5111, AEM 6120 , PUBPOL 3100 .
Enrollment limited to: graduate students. Co-meets with AEM 4110 .

The course objective is to provide students with a solid introductory understanding of econometric theory and applications. Students completing this course willbe able to integrate economic theory with econometric methods to solve research problems ineconomics, business, finance or other social sciences. The course covers least squares estimation, inference, forecasting,and various estimation problems and topicsin econometrics. The course emphasizes application rather than theory, although proper application requires knowledge of the underlying theory.
