HD 6290 - The Structure and Dynamics of Self-Regulation Spring. 4 credits. Letter grades only.
Primarily for: graduate students. Seniors who have completed at least two 3000/4000 level classes in HD or PSYCH may enroll with instructor approval.

Takes an in-depth look at structural and dynamic aspects of self-regulation with particular emphasis on empirical approaches and methodological challenges. Students will identify areas of overlap with their own interests and develop concrete ideas of how a self-regulatory angle can enrich their research ideas or broaden their professional perspective.
Outcome 1: Describe key theoretical controversies and empirical challenges in contemporary research on self-regulation.
Outcome 2: Propose a new research program to advance the field of self-regulation.
Outcome 3: Develop concrete policies or interventions that translate basic research on self-regulation into real-life settings.
