The Master of Engineering (Chemical) is a 30-credit professional program with a flexible curriculum that allows students to increase the depth of their knowledge in a specialty area, to broaden their knowledge in chemical engineering applications, or to enhance their competitiveness for industrial employment or future graduate work. Students who earned undergraduate degrees in chemical engineering, in related engineering fields or in physical sciences such as chemistry or biology can benefit from the program.

New specializations in “energy economics and engineering” and in “medical and industrial biotechnology” provide unique opportunity for focused interdisciplinary approaches in important career choices. The program includes the option to acquire supervisory training and practice.

Specific requirements include: 12 credits in chemical engineering courses. Courses can be selected in chemical engineering fundamentals, such as fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer and reaction kinetics, and in chemical engineering applications, including biotechnology, microchemical systems, energy, sustainability, drug delivery, polymers, and others. In addition, 3 to 6 credits are required in an individual or group project carried out under the mentorship of a faculty member. The project can be tailored to match a student’s technical interests and career goals.
