The Master of Engineering degree is a course work and project-oriented program. It is normally completed in two semesters of intensive study. Thirty credit hours are required, consisting of course work in a major concentration and a supporting area, as well as a design project.
Students may focus their studies in one of six major subject areas: environmental and water resource systems engineering, environmental fluid mechanics and hydrology, environmental processes, geotechnical engineering, structural mechanics and materials, and transportation systems engineering. Courses in supporting areas come from many disciplines, including architecture, computer science, economics, engineering management, historic preservation, materials science, microbiology and operations research to name just a few.
