Cornell in Washington offers a transformative, applied learning experience where students engage with the most pressing issues of the day through dynamic internships, world-class courses, and community engagement, emerging as scholars, professionals, active citizens, and leaders. All CIW semesters combine Cornell classes with an internship experience and all participants reside at Cornell’s Wolpe Center in the heart of Dupont Circle.

CIW students enroll in one core course – Inquiry in Politics and Policy and select two or three other elective seminars from such fields as government, history, economics, history of art, and social policy. Elective options include International Trade Theory and Policy, Implementation and Impact in Global and Public Health and more!

The Fall and Spring Semester is open to second-semester sophomores, juniors, and seniors from all Cornell colleges/schools. The Summer Term is open to any college student who has completed their first year of college.

The program is housed at 2148 O Street, NW, Washington, DC 20037.
