Course Numbering
All ARCH courses have a 4-digit course number. The first two digits of each ARCH course number have been assigned in the following way:
1st Digit = Level
1 = 1st year B.Arch. course
2 = 2nd year B.Arch. course
3 = 3rd year B.Arch. course, may be open to upper-level undergraduates and professional students
4 = 4th year B.Arch. course, may be open to upper-level undergraduates and professional students
5 = 5th year B.Arch. or M.Arch. course, open to upper-level undergraduates and professional students
6 = professional and graduate-level course
7 = graduate-level course
8 = master’s level, thesis, research
9 = doctoral level, thesis, research
2nd Digit = Area
1 = Design
2 = Professional Training
3 = Architectural Theory
4 = Architecture, Culture, Society
5 = Visual Representation
6 = Architectural Science and Technology
7 = Computer/Digital Applications
8 = History of Architecture
